The Afghanistan Trust exists to help support soldiers who served with The Parachute Regiment in Afghanistan who have been wounded or killed as a Consequence, and their families.

The Trust gained charitable status in November 2007 (registered charity number 1121647) and since then has made many donations to injured soldiers including help with mobility, training and equipment for future employment; accommodation and transport costs for families to visit the wounded and for the bereaved to attend to attend remembrance services.

 THE PARAS 10 EVENT – 09 SEPTEMBER 2012 AT CATTERICK YORKSHIRE & COLCHESTER 21 OCTOBER 2012

Are you fit enough to be a Para?  If you think you’ve got the courage to take part in the Paras’ 10 then this gruelling 10 mile race is the final test of endurance, which recruits have to complete to pass the Parachute Regiment’s notoriously hard selection programme.

There is now a new opportunity for people to run the Colchester Paras’ 10 which has just been organised.

Please take up the challenge

By doing this you will help raise funds for Parachute Regiment Afghan veterans, those soldiers who were injured and their families and the families of those killed during operations in Afghanistan.

This year The Afghanistan Trust is looking for 353 runners who will run to raise funds for The Afghanistan Trust as part of Team 353.   Team 353 is in memory of Pte Conrad Lewis 3 PARA/4 PARA who was the 353rd Soldier to be killed on operations in Afghanistan. Conrad’s father Tony started the fund TEAM 353 to raise funds for various charies. Monies raised by individuals running for The Afghanistan Trust will enable The Trust to give assistance where needed. To secure your entry please see below:

We need you to log onto the Paras’ 10 Web Site   www.paras10.com to secure a place for either (or indeed both) of the two events. To find out how to raise funds for the Afghan Trust please go onto our fundraising page.

Colin Smith, CEO of The Afghanistan Trust – at – ceo@afghanistantrust.org  needs your details so he can run a data base on all individuals taking part, please contact him for further details if required.

The Afghanistan Trust would like to thank those who are running the Catterick & Colchester events as are some of the Trustees.
