Parachute Regiment & Institute of Directors Employment Programme

Essex has a strong military background especially with The Parachute Regiment Units based in Colchester.

The Institute of Directors (IOD) Essex has a strong regional presence and draws members from a variety of businesses, large and small throughout the area. Many members of the Essex IOD have expertise in all areas of Business including Human Resources, Recruitment and Training.

The IOD have developed a programme entitled ‘Pride P which has given direct support to help wounded Soldiers of the Parachute Regiment with their possible transition into civilian life.

IOD/PRIDE P – Mentoring Day Merville Barracks 20 June 2012

As part of Pride P, The IOD held a mentoring day at Merville Barracks in Colchester and 22 members of the Regiment attended.

 The programme has provided our soldiers with an insight into what employers are looking for, given one to one coaching, held workshops to help with writing a CV and improving interview skills, as well as providing mentors who are knowledgeable in many areas and willing to share their experiences. Pride P also provides a dedicated online support facility to provide papers, workshop notes, and advice and contact details. www.afghantrust.mvine.com
